Planning Commission Meeting Thursday, July 22nd

6:00 – 9:30PM, Board of Supervisor’s Chambers

The Planning Commission will continue discussion of section 4.8 (Land Use Classifications)

According to Staff, the Commission “intends to conclude the ongoing discussion of the draft Land Use Element, in particular, Section 4.8 Land Use Classifications (which include the text of the plan, not the proposed mapping changes) and begin review of the remainder of Part 2, which includes Chapter 5, Community Infrastructure and Services Element, Chapter 6, Telecommunications, Chapter 7, Circulation Element and Chapter 9, Economic Development Element.

Since the Supervisors’ request to speed up the process (initiated on May 11th by Supervisor Lovelace) there has been much discussion about upcoming meetings of the Planning Commission. However, at least for now, the commission appears to be sticking to the general approach they have adopted over the past months.

It’s unclear how far the Commission will get in their continued discussion of 4.8 (Land Use Classifications). They will take up where they left off on July 8th at “T” ( Timber) and will still have to address such key issues as “Industrial Timber” Land, Ranchland, and Agricultural Land classifications (“TI”, “AE”, “AG”, and “AGR”).
